This is my first blog post in over a month. Technology wasn’t cooperating, and it took longer than expected to overcome this current challenge. The post I wrote when I discovered the issue with my site was about the challenges we faced while trying to open up Treasure Buds & Records.
Initially, I hoped to open the shop on December 22, 2024. It would have been my dad’s 85th birthday, and I thought it would be cool to start a new endeavour on the day. Unfortunately, there were issues with the construction of the shop, which delayed the opening, and we postponed it until January 5.
It’s been almost two years since we left Canada, and I often say, “Never a dull moment.” I’m tempted to get a T-shirt with the phrase printed on it. 😉
Now that my website is up and running, we woke up to half our home losing electricity. We don’t know what caused the issue, and JPS is working on it. This is just one example of the inability not to have a problem that we need to deal with.
When I commented to a local when we were dealing with the shop construction that there was never a dull moment, she laughed and asked if I was just realizing that. It wasn’t that the realization just hit; it was recognizing that it was a regular thing and not something happening to me personally.
I’m treating the undull moments with humour. There’s no point in getting upset since it won’t fix anything. We’re just continuously learning how to navigate a new country with different viewpoints on how things should be done.
I choose to enjoy the variety of experiences we’ve been having. I’m living the saying that variety is the spice of life. Living in a new country has allowed me to experience things I never would have if I hadn’t left Canada, so I’m grateful we took the leap of faith to start life somewhere new. 🩵
