In August I started my third cycle of the 40 Day Prosperity Plan based on The Abundance Book by John Randolph 
Price. Each time I’ve done the program outlined in the book I have benefited. Whether it’s been a shift in my mindset as far as abundance and prosperity are concerned, or actually experiencing an increase in my abundance, I’ve felt good at the end of each 40 day cycle.
Confession Time…
This third time around, I decided to open it to a wider group, creating daily emails for each day with the passage for the day and a reminder to journal after a 15 minute meditation on the statement for the day. Even though I prepared the daily emails and posted to the private Facebook page, I didn’t actually do any journaling or mediation of my own this time around!
I felt guilty that I wasn’t putting my full effort into the process, but there just never seemed to be enough time with all the other things I had going on. Of course, the truth is I didn’t make time. I started out with the best intentions but I’m being truthful when I say I didn’t put a full effort into the 40 days other than making sure I delivered what I promised to those who had signed up for the program.
No Expectations
Because didn’t do the program at a 100% commitment level, I didn’t expect to reap any benefits out of this time around. As I typed out the daily statements, I would be remembered of the first time I had read them, and maybe even given some thought as to what the statement meant for me, but that was about it. I didn’t expect any major breakthroughs to happen with such a low level of engagement.
Here’s the thing…
A few months ago, in one of my mastermind groups, I half-jokingly said I would be a happy girl if I could get paid to write. At the time, I didn’t think it was possible. During the first 10 days or so of doing the 40 day plan, I was inspired to offer my writing services online. The following day I received my first order. In the time since then, I’ve had several orders, inquiries about ghostwriting books and a steady contract to write for another coach’s blog! I also started looking for exhibitors for an event that I’m organizing for the fall, and had 50% of spaces taken by the end of August.
What does it all mean?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not encouraging doing the 40 Day Prosperity Plan as half-assed as I did. At the end of the day, I was giving some of my time daily to the program. What I do know is that this time around, I had no expectation as to what would happen during the 40 days. I don’t think I’ve been that detached from outcome the previous two times I did the plan and I think that makes a huge difference. Will I do the plan again? Absolutely! I appreciate the fact that with a book like The Abundance Book we can learn something new each time we read it.
