We’ve wrapped up the first month of 2026. January is an eventful month for me: wedding anniversary, husband’s birthday, dogs’ Gotcha day, and the anniversary of when we first met. Oh, I forgot it was also the one-year anniversary of Treasure Buds & Records, which reopened after being closed for almost three months, thanks to Hurricane Melissa. 😮💨
As full as the start of the year was, I’m looking forward to accomplishing more this year. I’m looking forward to completing my third book and continuing to source new and cool things for the shop.
Mentally, it wasn’t a great start to the year. My head was full of phlegm and not much else for about three weeks. 😕
Now that my mind is clearer, I can focus on the goals I’d like to achieve this year, both personally and professionally. One of my goals is to balance work and rest.
Even though we live 5 minutes from the beach, I haven’t enjoyed a day in the water since last April. 😲 I need some time to float in the water and soothe my back (and mosquito bites).
One of my goals is to train our dogs. I’ve been working on sit, stay, and come with success. Since they have the yard to run in, they don’t get daily walks, so getting them on a leash will be my greatest challenge. They constantly pull whenever we try now. 😕
The one thing I’d like to do this year, but I’m still figuring it out, is to travel somewhere. I’d like to go somewhere new this year, so one of my goals is to make that possible. The how, where, and when will figure themselves out in time. 🩵
