I finally started writing my next book. I’m grateful that I’ve gained clarity using the tools available to me. While I have no intention of using ChatGPT to write my book, I am using it to help me flesh out the topics I should consider covering.
I have a lot of research to do, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the topics that have piqued my curiosity since I moved here. I’ve realized that I have to take the same approach to writing this book as I would if I were taking a class.
I’ve asked ChatGPT what books I should read to prepare for writing my book, and it has recommended books based on the different topics I’ll be covering. I’m excited to dive in, but I’m also a bit conflicted about the lack of assignments and tests.
I’m looking forward to learning more about Jamaica and gaining a deeper understanding of its culture and history. I’m hoping to make significant progress before the end of the year, if not completing the first draft. My goal is to complete the first draft by December 31.
I think that reading books to gain knowledge is a great way to lay the foundation for further study. While I know that I’ll have to conduct research to write about the various topics I will cover in each chapter, I believe having a solid foundation will help me better understand the other issues.
I know from experience that the more I read, the more inspired I’ll be to write, as different ideas and perspectives emerge. I’m looking forward to encountering surprises and learning more about the origins of many of the experiences I see today.
I started writing this week, beginning with the introduction, which will be the easiest chapter (aside from the dedication) to write, since it doesn’t require any research.
I’m excited to see how the book unfolds, and I look forward to learning more about the country of my father’s birth and the island I now call home.
