Witnessing nature’s wonders

December 30, 2022 Sandra Dawes

Last week we spent a few days with a friend. He rescued a 5-week-old puppy whose mother killed his littermates, and I should correct that statement. His pregnant dog rescued the puppy and is feeding him breast milk that has come in early (just for him?) with her weeks away from having puppies of her own.

The female dog’s name is Miracle. She got the name because her caretaker saved her from dying using natural remedies, and she’s now two years old and ready to give birth to her first litter.

I’ve heard instances of this happening in nature, I know that wet nurses are a thing, but this is the first time I’ve seen it in action. Here’s a picture of them napping:

Miracle and her son ❤️

I think it’s fantastic that Miracle knows what the puppy needs and has stepped in to give it to him. He’s only six weeks old, but he knows who his safe people are, and it’s adorable to see him running after Miracle or her owner, trying to keep up.

This trip has had me encountering quite a few dogs, including puppies, so I’m in my happy place. Warm weather and dogs? It doesn’t get much better than this! 😊

Shooting stars, double rainbows, and dogs adopting puppies and feeding them their breastmilk that miraculously came in early with a dog named Miracle? It’s making me wonder what the universe has in store for me in 2023! ❤️🎉
