A Month Without Social Media

July 5, 2021 Sandra Dawes

A few weeks ago I wrote about the fact that I had take a week away from social media. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to give it a try for the rest of the month of June. I have to admit, I enjoyed not feeling the need to post something everyday just to feel like I’m staying relevant.

I don’t know if anyone missed my daily posts, but I know I didn’t miss posting them. Habit had me checking in on different platforms at different times during the month, but I never felt the pull or desire to post something. It’s actually felt like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I started Leonie Dawson’s course on Marketing Without Social Media this weekend. I’ll keep you posted on how things go as I continue my business without using social media on a daily basis. Right now, I’m not sure whether I’m going to be completely done with social media or change my relationship with social media.

I think once I complete Leonie’s course, I’ll have a better idea of the different options available to me that will allow me to grow my business without feeling like I’m getting trapped in the matrix, struggling to find a way out.

2021 has been a year of change for me, and I’m liking where the changes are taking me. One of my key values is freedom and I feel like I’m getting closer to the type of freedom I truly want for my life.

Social media has become a burden for me. Until I can find a way to make participating in the platforms available in a way that makes me feel good, I’m going to stick a pin it it.

I’m not saying that I’m against social media or that I’ll never find a purpose to use it in the future. Right now, I’m just saying that I’ve decided that there has to be a better way to promote my business and stay in touch with friends and family.

If you’ve been taking a step back from social media, share what’s worked for you to keep FOMO from bringing you back to the dark side. 😉 ♥
