It’s funny that this is my second attempt at writing this post. The first working title was It’s not as hard as you think! After attempting to delete the unwanted item on the page (with zero luck), I decided to simply delete and start again. I guess the universe wanted me to put a more positive spin on the message since I encountered the same issue, yet managed to deal with it easier the second time around. 😉
Last week I was bitten by the culinary bug and made two things that I’ve thought about making for years and always made an excuse not to do. The first was an attempt at a Victoria Sponge Cake. I have convinced myself that it was far too complicated, with fresh cream and all. I found a recipe that didn’t require fresh cream and turned out pretty well!
The next dish was a peanut porridge. It’s a favorite of mine, but I usually indulge when I have the opportunity to buy it. I was inspired to make it last week and it was MUCH easier than I thought it would going to be, so I will definitely be making it again!
It’s peculiar that we have things that we want to do, things we talk about doing, yet for some reason, we chose not to do anything about it. Whether it’s time, fear of failure, or a lack of ingredients, I’ve always found that when we want to do something we find a way to make it happen.
When we finally get the inspiration or motivation to do the things that we keep putting off, it’s amazing the satisfaction we get from the experience. For me, it serves as a reminder that anything is possible if we put our minds to it.
Achieving the things that we put off, regardless of how long it takes for us to get there, is not only rewarding; it also makes us ask the question: What else is possible?
Whether your achievements are personal or professional, trying something new helps us grow and show us that it’s never too late to learn new things. If you’ve been thinking about doing something and keep putting it off for whatever reason, give it a try! I promise it’s easier than you think! ♥
