I admit that even though I’m usually pretty focused on my goals, I still have moments of self-doubt. Just this past week I had a day where I was questioning my next move. It’s funny how there are days where one thing can make you question everything.
Whenever I get in one of these moods, I ask for a sign that I am on the right path. I don’t dictate what the sign should be, I just ask for a clear sign that I am actually headed in the right direction. I ask and then I move on. This time, after asking the question, I spent the rest of the day listening to podcasts and webinar replays to keep me in a positive frame of mind.
Before the end of the day, I received a phone call and an email from two different people that I took as clear messages from the universe that I am indeed headed in the right direction. I admit that this response was much quicker than I am used to, but I will take it! If you’ve read the book E-Squared by Pam Grout, you know that asking for a sign from the universe is one of the nine experiments. For the experiment in the book, there is a 48 hour deadline given for the sign to manifest 🙂
Self-doubt is inevitable. We all have moments where we question whether or not we should persist or quit. I firmly believe that these challenging times are a test from the universe. It’s an opportunity to ask ourselves how badly we really want the thing that we are working towards. If we are committed to making our goals a reality, we must persist.
Don’t allow your doubts to paralyze you. Know that it is all part of the journey. Remember why you started on the path in the first place and ask yourself if those reasons are still valid. Maybe what motivated you to start isn’t a strong enough reason anymore. If that’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with moving on to something else that truly lights your fire. If the goal you’re pursuing is still meaningful to you, then it’s just a matter of finding an alternate route to get you to your destination.
Self-doubt, fears, unexpected life events; they pop up in our lives whether we’re prepared for them or not. The good news is that we do have control over how we allow them to affect our lives. Pray about it, meditate, journal, talk to someone. There are so many different ways to work through the stuff that makes us feel like our goals will never become a reality. You just have to find the one that works for you! ♥
