The Value of Having a Miracle Jar

December 12, 2016 Sandra Dawes

I saw this post on Facebook this week that reminded me that it’s almost time to crack open my 12299146_10153144971477371_2108981618719730153_nmiracle jar and read all the amazing things that I wrote and put in the jar throughout the year! This is just one of the neat tools that Leonie Dawson shares in her workbooks. It’s all part of celebrating the blessings that we’ve encountered for the year. It’s so easy to focus on all the things that didn’t go well this year and forget about all the things we should be grateful for.

I love the idea of doing a miracle jar! I made sure that I put the jar somewhere where I wouldn’t forget about it and I got so excited every time I had something to write down and put in the jar! The jar is a great reminder to celebrate your accomplishments as well as express gratitude for the many blessings we experience throughout the year 🙂

After doing this for the past 12 months, it is definitely a practice that I plan to continue. I think that it would be a wonderful exercise to do as a family! Think about how cool it would be to have everyone bring out their miracles jars and open them up during the holidays to share all the fantastic things that have happened in our lives!

The thing to remember if you decide to start this exercise is that you don’t have to wait for BIG successes to add to your jar. Your miracles could be anything! It could be a great conversation, reconnecting with a long lost friend or reading a book that has a profound impact on you. Little things add to big accomplishments. It’s important to celebrate the small things that add meaningful experiences to your life!

Your miracles jar can be as pretty or as simple as you want it to be 🙂 You can see a picture here in fullsizerender-4the post. I got the label from Leonie’s workbook and then added some stickers to make the label stay on and add a bit more colour to it 😉 My jar is a recycled raw honey jar!

A colleague of mine shared that she gifted miracle jars to family last year and I think that it’s such a cool gift idea! It’s the gift that keeps on giving. One of my favourite quotes is that gratitude is the greatest multiplier of good. Why not share a tool that helps those you care about attract more blessings in their lives by adding to their miracle jar on a regular basis?

What will your miracle jar look like? If you decide to do one, share an image of your jar below! ♥
