Are you impeccable with your word?

September 24, 2013 Sandra Dawes

Have you ever experienced someone telling you they’re going to do something for you and it doesn’t happen?  If you have, you know that the feeling of disappointment and being let down don’t leave you all warm and fuzzy.  If you’re been the one who wasn’t able to fulfill your promise, you know that there are lots of reasons why this happens.

If you’ve read The Four Agreements or The Five Agreements for that matter, by Don Miguel Ruiz, then you know that being impeccable with your word is one of the keys to living a balanced life.  Being mindful of the words you speak goes beyond not making promises you can’t keep.  It’s about not speaking negatively about others.  Gossip, putting others or yourself down doesn’t happen, and the words you speak come from a place of authenticity.  You don’t tell people what you think they want to hear; you speak your truth from the heart.

Being impeccable with your word is something that takes conscious effort.  It forces you to think before you speak, and asks you to be clear about your intentions.  It demands that you be true to yourself and others.  Will it be easy?  Breaking old habits rarely is.  If you want a life that flows with ease and helps you achieve balance in your life, the effort is worth it! ♥
